July Sales & Deals

The spring bounce appears to be continuing into summer, with the number of contracts signed in July in the towns this blog covers remaining relatively high. Of the four previously-featured hot properties that found interested suitors, the Tudor in Montrose was on the market for about a month while the colonial in Katonah was first listed back in 2007. And five hot properties made it all the way to the alter in July.

It looks like the market is picking up. More things are selling, and those that are priced well are selling for or close to asking price. The listings that have been sitting around for too long appear to be moving too.

Things may be "picking up" but they are still really slow and prices are way down. That Katonah house is a good example of what happens to a house when the price is too high.
