Rental: Teatown Treat

Year Built: 1930
Square Feet: 4,133
Bedrooms: 3
Property: 0.599 of an acre
Location: The Croton section of the Teatown area.
Best features: Location and charm. Set in a nice spot on lovely Blinn Road in the Teatown section, this property is a sweet spot to spend some time. (For hikers, it's a stone's throw from Bald Mountain, Teatown Lake Reservation, and the Teatown-Kitchawan hiking trail.) The large house has a nice living room with cathedral ceilings, a lovely dining room, and some great fireplace mantels. Outside, there's a killer front porch and a sweet rear patio.
Downside: The small property is a downside, but for a rental there's more than enough land.
Monthly Rent: $4,200

Rental: Furnished and Fabulous

Year Built: 1972
Square Feet: 2,500
Bedrooms: 3
Property: 4 acres
Location: Bedford (with a Mt. Kisco address), in the back roads near Guard Hill.
Best features: A fine specimen of early 70's design, this house has plenty of panache. Lots of windows and good lines give the rooms a bright, modern feel. The large property is lovely. And there's the furniture—a Steinway piano and classic pieces by Eames and LeCorbusier.
Downside: The wall-to-wall is drab. And if the furnishings aren't your style, you're out of luck.
Monthly Rent: $4,000

Rental: On the River

Year Built: 1954
Square Feet: 1,750
Bedrooms: 3
Property: 0.74 of an acre
Location: In Croton, perched over the Croton River and still in walking distance to village amenities.
Best features: Did you not read the "perched over the Croton River" part? The back patio has quite the lookout over the river. Inside, the living room boasts beams and a wall of windows. And the kitchen looks quite cool.
Downside: The exterior ain't very exciting. Then again, its just a rental.
Monthly Rent: $4,000
