A Sampling of Sales & Deals
I keep meaning to post recent closings and sales, but I never get to it. It's quite time consuming, and I do have a day job—not to mention a spouse whose constant refrain is "Stop blogging and [insert heinous household task]!" So, the following sampling of hot properties that have sold or gone to contract is my attempt to make up for past failures. While most listings have sold for within spitting distance of the asking price, there is one clear example of successful lowballing, a trend reported in Sunday's New York Times. There are also some signs of a recent up-tick in activity, with a number of listings going to contract relatively quickly and some sleepers finally finding buyers. Is that Spring in the air?
Note: Listings are organized by the date they were featured; the asking prices listed are the last recorded ones.

This is interesting. Some people got some good deals. I especially like the Yorktown house for $925,000!
I made a really low offer on the red house in Croton a few months ago. It was rejected and then I found something else. I wonder what they finally got.
