Not so Mellow Yellow

Sanford Wurmfeld's "E-Cyclorama" is a huge cylinder whose walls are painted with 109 colors. The piece is on a raised paltform and visitors enter through a staircase in the center. As you stand inside the space, "transitions are so subtle that it is hard to tell where one color ends and the next one begins," according to the reviewer in Sunday's New York Times. Sounds cool. This is the piece's first show since it's premiere at the Edinburgh College of Art (where it is shown above). Through July 19 at the Nueberger Museum of Art.
