Activities and things to do in Northern Westchester this July 4th weekend:
Parade and Fireworks The annual Independence Day Parade will start at 10:00 a.m. and will proceed through the streets of Peekskill, with the reviewing stand located on South Street. The annual fireworks will begin at dusk and will take place at Riverfront Green. (Charles Cook Point is a good, less crowded viewing spot.) Friday. City of Peekskill
Independence Day 1808 Festivities begin with the roar of the cannon and feature a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Visitors are invited to join the parade through the manor along with its costumed residents. Military re-enactors invite one and all to drill and muster. Victorian Fourth of July Bring a picnic lunch for an afternoon of fun. Play old-fashioned games and try your hand at churning ice cream. Friday, 1:00 to 3:00. Muscoot Farm

Family First Saturday Discover art together through themed gallery talks for parents and children. Enjoy related hands-on art workshops for children and live music by Purchase College Conservatory of Music students. Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00. Neuberger Museum of Art
Art on the Farm: Sheep, Wool, & Weaving Kick off Arts Month with a weaving workshop. Kids ages 8 and up can start with sheep and wool activities and then can weave with wool and plant material on individual looms. Saturday, 3:00. Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture
Anthony da Costa The young winner of the Folk Alliance Emerging Artist of the Year and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Competition, Anthony da Costa, will preform tunes from his seventh album, Bad Nights, Better Days. Saturday, 8:00. Peekskill Coffee House
Children's Nature Hike On this hike designed especially for kids, children will visit four different habitats and look for signs of animal life. Saturday, 10:00. Westmoreland Sanctuary
Works by Mendelssohn, Mozart and Beethoven Lasdon's summer concert series begins with music by the masters. Gates open at 5:00 for picnicking. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Saturday, 6:00. Lasdon Park and Arboretum
Carnival in Venice A pre-concert features Caramoor’s resident commedia dell’arte troupe, I Giullari di Piazza, followed by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in an all-Vivaldi program featuring The Four Seasons.
