Improving Peekskill's Waterfront

The long-gestating plans for revamping Peekskill's already stunning riverfront are getting closer to being finalized. A revised plan was presented to the public last week as part of the community-review process, according to the North County News. The plans for the Riverfront Green Park call for adding an "interactive spray park" for children, a new stage, a beach, a chess and checkers area, and new paths. A controversial aspect of the plan is the proposed waterfront restaurant. Other aspects of the waterfront plan involve new paths, landscaping, and a boardwalk along Travis Cove, which would connect the Riverfront Green to Charles Point Park.
