Movies-on-Hudson

What could be funner than catching a family-friendly flick in the great outdoors? How 'bout doing so with the majestic Hudson as a backdrop. Every Wednesday this summer, Croton-on-Hudson will be showing movies at lovely Senasqua Park. This week's feature is Where the Wild Things Are. All are welcome and the films begin at dusk.

Is it really open to the public? I always thought Senasqua Park was for Croton residents only and you had to show an ID. As a fairly recent Cortlandt resident, I always feel slighted by that. Silver Lake, same issue. I don't quite understand why us Cortlandt Manor riff raff aren't allowed in? We let those Croton snobs use our pool. Sniff.

You are correct that both Senasqua Park and Silver Lake are officially for Croton residents only and in the summer there is an ID checker at both parks. However, all of the events at Senasqua Park (concerts, movies, etc.) are open to the general public. (I checked prior to publishing the post).

I should not have doubted your thoroughness. Thanks for the info.

Also, I didn't mean to sound like a jerk regarding Croton folks. Some of my favorite people in the world happen to live in Croton. I just abhor exclusiveness in all its forms. That and Silver Lake is just so great. I wish they'd let me in. ;-)

Thanks--but really you should. In this case I was totally thorough. But better safe than...

PS. The movie was canceled due to the weather and has been rescheduled for tonight.
