Artful Algae

Grimanesa Amorós' installation piece, Rootless Algas, consists of large multi-colored "algae" made of translucent abaca sheets which are hung from ceiling to floor. The installation includes a video projection and soundtrack by Icelandic composer Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson. Grimanesa Amorós is an interdisciplinary artist who often makes use of sculpture, video, lighting, and sound. The installation is on view through December 21.
