Catching the Train Just got Easier

The Metro-North Railroad launched a $2.5 million expansion of service yesterday, according to the New York Times. There are now an additional 67 trains on the schedule each week, bringing the total to 4,439 trains a week. The Hudson Line is getting a whopping 41 new trains a week, with 21 of those on weekends. Changes on the Hudson line include:

  • 9 new limited-stop express trains between Croton-Harmon and Grand Central on weekends.
  • 3 new limited-stop express trains between Croton-Harmon and Grand Central on weeknights.
  • On weekday mornings, a new 9:00 express train from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central.
The Harlem line is getting new trains as well, including a limited-stop express train to the Southeast station. The additions to the schedule should make catching a train on weekends and after rush hour on weekdays a lot easier. For new schedules, check out www.mta.info.
