The New York Unit of the
Herb Society of America will hold it's 61st annual Herb Fair this week at the
John Jay Homestead. The fair will feature oodles of herbs, jams, jellies, vinegars, and baked goods, according to
The New York Times. There will also be lovage soup, whose scent the
Times reporter described as "like celery mingled with anise." According to the Herb Society, which also maintains a permanent garden at the site (left), the proceeds will support local gardens. The fair is this
Thursday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
